Naval Air Station Patuxent River, located in St. Mary's County, Maryland, is the home of the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD). The station serves as the primary test and evaluation facility for all Naval and Marine Corps aircraft, weapons systems, and aviation-related equipment. From the F-35 to the MV-22 Osprey to the next generation of unmanned aircraft, every system must pass through "Pax River" before reaching the fleet.
