NAS Willow Grove served the Philadelphia area and the broader Mid-Atlantic region as a reserve naval air station, hosting Navy and Marine Corps reserve aviation squadrons. This officially licensed patch represents the sailors and Marines who served there.
Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Willow Grove, located in Horsham Township, Pennsylvania, served as a major reserve aviation installation for Navy, Marine Corps, Army, and Air Force reserve units. The station hosted reserve patrol, transport, and fighter squadrons, and was one of the most important joint reserve bases in the northeastern United States until its closure in 2011 under the Base Realignment and Closure process.
