Naval Air Station Alameda, located on the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay in Alameda, California, served the Navy from 1940 until its closure in 1997. The station was a major hub for carrier aviation, fleet logistics, and reserve operations, hosting aircraft carriers, patrol squadrons, and reserve units. NAS Alameda's strategic location on the Bay provided ideal facilities for fleet operations and played a vital role during World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Cold War.
