The 82nd Medical Detachment (Helicopter Ambulance) — callsign "Delta Dustoff" — conducted medevac operations during the Vietnam War as part of the Army's extensive air ambulance network. Flying UH-1 Hueys, Delta Dustoff crews evacuated wounded paratroopers and soldiers from combat throughout the theater, maintaining the proud tradition of the 82nd Airborne Division.
