USMC 1st ANGLICO FMF Patch — USMC Embroidered Patch

Thunder From Above — 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company

Small teams. Big firepower. 1st ANGLICO put Marines where no other unit could go — embedded with Army divisions, allied forces, and coalition partners — calling in the full weight of Marine and naval fire support with devastating precision. This patch carries the identity of one of the most elite and least understood units in the Marine Corps.

ANGLICO traces its lineage to the Joint Assault Signal Companies (JASCOs) of World War II, which coordinated air and naval gunfire during the Pacific island-hopping campaigns. In 1949, the Marine Corps recreated the capability under the ANGLICO designation. 1st ANGLICO, based at Camp Pendleton, California, supported I Marine Expeditionary Force and activated Sub Unit One for duty in Vietnam in May 1965, where it operated continuously for eight years — the only Marine Corps unit reporting directly to Military Assistance Command, Vietnam. During Desert Storm, 1st ANGLICO deployed to Saudi Arabia, providing fire control teams to Arab Coalition forces. Deactivated in May 1999, the unit was reactivated in 2003 during the Global War on Terror and has since supported combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, including Helmand Province in 2008–2009.

Perfect For: ANGLICO veterans, fire support Marines, JTAC-qualified personnel, I MEF supporters, and anyone who respects the warriors who bring the thunder without pulling the trigger.

Small teams. Massive firepower. That's ANGLICO.
