These specialists install, operate, maintain, and repair fuel handling units and equipment, and test petroleum products to ensure quality for use in amphibious assault fuel handling systems. Formal MOS 1391 training has been conducted at Fort Lee since 1983, where the Marine Corps Petroleum Training Division prepares students for the technical demands of bulk fuel operations in garrison, in the field, and in combat. Without this community, aircraft stay grounded, vehicles stop rolling, and the entire MAGTF loses its momentum.
