11th MEU VBSS PVC Shoulder Patch - 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit Maritime Raid Force Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure PVC Shoulder Patch.

Pride of the Pacific, boarding the hard way — this patch belongs to the Marines who take the fight to the water.

The 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, activated in 1979 and based at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, carries the nickname Pride of the Pacific and serves as a forward-deployed, rapid-response Marine Air Ground Task Force under I Marine Expeditionary Force. Certified as Special Operations Capable in 1992, the 11th MEU expanded its mission set to include counter-terrorism, direct action, and maritime special operations. At the center of that maritime identity is the Maritime Raid Force and its VBSS capability — Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure — a demanding mission set built to intercept vessels suspected of carrying illicit cargo, weapons, or high-value individuals. Marines insert by fast-rope from UH-1Y Venom helicopters or by rigid-hulled inflatable boat, clear the vessel under threat, and transfer control to host-nation security forces once the objective is secured. That combination of sea, air, and assault skill makes the VBSS mission one of the most operationally complex tasks an MEU can execute. This PVC shoulder patch captures that identity in a durable, field-ready format suited to gear, display panels, and unit collections.

Perfect For: 11th MEU veterans and active-duty Marines, Maritime Raid Force members, VBSS-qualified personnel, Camp Pendleton unit alumni, amphibious ready group sailors, I MEF collectors, deployment keepsake displays, shadow boxes, challenge coin and patch boards, and anyone building a serious Marine Corps maritime operations collection. It also makes a meaningful gift for family members and supporters who want a specific, well-researched tribute to the Marines who conduct boarding operations at sea.

Pride of the Pacific, stitched in PVC — for the crews who board, clear, and hold the line at sea.
