This embroidered patch represents MOS 6074, Cryogenics Technicians in the Marine Corps, known as the "Cold Hard Corps." Cryogenics technicians maintain and operate cryogenic systems that produce, store, and distribute liquid oxygen (LOX) and liquid nitrogen essential for Marine aviation operations. LOX systems provide breathable oxygen for aircrew at high altitude, and without cryogenics technicians, Marine aviators can't fly above 10,000 feet. It's one of the most specialized and least-known MOSs in Marine aviation, but the Cold Hard Corps is absolutely essential.
