The Military Order of the Devil Dogs is the fun and honor society of the Marine Corps League, dedicated to promoting camaraderie, good fellowship, and merriment among Marines and former Marines. The name "Devil Dog" itself traces to World War I, when German soldiers reportedly called the fierce Marines at Belleau Wood "Teufel Hunden" — Devil Dogs — a nickname the Corps has proudly carried ever since. Membership in the Order is by invitation, and members advance through the ranks from Pup to Devil Dog to the exalted Pedigree, all while supporting charitable causes and keeping the spirit of Marine brotherhood alive. This officially licensed patch represents membership in one of the most recognized fraternal organizations in the Marine community.
