The Reset Program takes aging Super Stallions through comprehensive overhaul and restoration, returning aircraft that have accumulated decades of hard use to near-new condition.

The CH-53E Super Stallion is the Marine Corps' heavy-lift workhorse — the most powerful helicopter in the Western military inventory, capable of lifting 16 tons of cargo externally. With the CH-53K King Stallion replacement program still ramping up production, the Marine Corps depends on the Reset Program to keep the existing CH-53E fleet flying safely and effectively. Reset involves the complete disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of each aircraft, addressing corrosion, fatigue damage, outdated components, and accumulated wear. The program gives "Shitter" (the CH-53E's affectionate maintenance nickname) a new lease on life, ensuring the Marine Corps maintains its heavy-lift capability during the critical transition to the King Stallion.
