Officially Licensed USMC VMM-263 Thunder Chickens Stickers — Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 263 MV-22 Osprey Vinyl Sticker
Thunder Chickens — the first operational Osprey squadron, now in sticker form.
Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 263 (VMM-263), the "Thunder Chickens," holds the distinction of being the first operational MV-22B Osprey squadron in the United States Marine Corps. Redesignated on March 3, 2006, at MCAS New River, North Carolina, VMM-263 took the Osprey into combat for the first time when it deployed to Iraq in September 2007 aboard USS Wasp. The Thunder Chickens fly under MAG-26 and the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, providing assault support transport for II Marine Expeditionary Force.
The Thunder Chickens' legacy extends far beyond the Osprey era. Originally activated as HMR-263 in 1952, the squadron served two tours in Vietnam, participated in the dramatic rescue of downed Air Force pilot Captain Scott O'Grady in Bosnia in 1995, and deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq with the 24th MEU. VMM-263 was named Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron of the Year in 1996 and continues to lead Marine tiltrotor aviation. This sticker brings the Thunder Chicken identity to water bottles, toolboxes, laptops, and anywhere else that needs some Osprey energy.
Perfect For:
VMM-263 Thunder Chickens members and veterans, MV-22 Osprey enthusiasts, MAG-26 and 2nd MAW Marines, MCAS New River community, and Marine tiltrotor squadron sticker collectors.
