HMM-162, the Golden Eagles, was a Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron that flew the CH-46E Sea Knight — the legendary "Phrog" — in support of Marine Air-Ground Task Force operations worldwide. The Golden Eagles carried Marines into combat zones, supported humanitarian missions, and deployed aboard amphibious ships with Marine Expeditionary Units for decades. Now operating as VMM-162 on the MV-22B Osprey, the squadron's legacy lives on, but this leather patch pays tribute to the Phrog era — when the distinctive tandem-rotor silhouette was the most welcome sight in any LZ.
