Officially Licensed HMM-265 Dragons Leather Patches — The Dragons of the Pacific
The Dragons have been flying Marines across the Pacific for decades. From Vietnam to Okinawa, the mission has always been the same: get Marines where they need to go.
Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 265 (HMM-265) — the 'Dragons' — is a United States Marine Corps helicopter squadron with a distinguished history of assault support operations across the Pacific. The Dragons have flown the CH-46 Sea Knight for decades, providing the vertical lift that carries Marines from ship to shore and across the battlefield. HMM-265 has been a forward-deployed squadron, based at MCAS Futenma on Okinawa, Japan, as part of the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing's presence in the Western Pacific. The squadron has participated in operations and exercises throughout the Indo-Pacific, including deployments to the Philippines, Thailand, South Korea, Australia, and across Southeast Asia. The Dragons' mission is assault support — the helicopter-borne insertion of combat troops, the resupply of forward positions, the casualty evacuation of wounded Marines, and the vertical replenishment of ships at sea. The CH-46 Sea Knight was the backbone of Marine medium helicopter aviation for over four decades, and HMM-265 flew the Phrog with distinction throughout its service life. The Dragons have since transitioned to the MV-22 Osprey tiltrotor as VMM-265, continuing their Pacific mission with a revolutionary new aircraft. These leather patches carry the Dragons' Pacific heritage.
Perfect For: HMM-265 and VMM-265 Dragons Marines past and present, CH-46 Sea Knight and MV-22 Osprey community members, MCAS Futenma and 1st MAW personnel, and anyone who has served with the Dragons in the Pacific.
