Official HMH-465 Warhorse CH-53 Flightline Qual Patches — USMC Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron Embroidered Patch

Established in 1981 as the first West Coast CH-53E Super Stallion squadron — and they haven't stopped lifting since.

HMH-465 "Warhorse" is the Marine Corps' premier heavy-lift helicopter squadron, operating the CH-53E Super Stallion out of MCAS Miramar under MAG-16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. The Warhorses saw their first combat during Desert Shield and Desert Storm, providing heavy-lift support for I MEF across the entire theater. On the night of April 1, 2003, HMH-465 aircraft were part of the special task force that extracted POW Jessica Lynch. The squadron has deployed to Okinawa, Afghanistan (including inserting Marines to seize FOB Rhino in the opening days of Enduring Freedom), Iraq, and California wildfire operations — dropping 68,000+ gallons of water on the Big Sur fires in 2008. The Warhorses have logged over 20,000 mishap-free flight hours and continue multi-site deployments across the Pacific.

• Embroidered USMC flightline qualification patches
• Dense stitching with merrowed border for professional finish
• Hook & loop backing for flight suits, tactical vests, and helmet bags
• Vibrant color-fast thread built for the flightline and the display case
• Sized for standard Velcro panels

Perfect For:
HMH-465 Marines and alumni, CH-53E Super Stallion crews and maintainers, MAG-16 and 3rd MAW personnel, Marine heavy-lift aviation enthusiasts, and USMC squadron patch collectors. A tribute to the heaviest lifters in the Corps.

Size is shown on the product page and updates with the variant you select (example: 3"). If you’re mounting on a hat or small panel, choose smaller sizes; for plate carriers and display boards, larger sizes fit better.
