The Knightriders in Vietnam — the first CH-46 squadron in-country.
HMM-164 brought the first CH-46 Sea Knights to Vietnam in March 1966, arriving at Marble Mountain Air Facility near Da Nang. Over the next three and a half years, the Knightriders flew thousands of combat missions — troop lifts into contested LZs, emergency medevac under fire, resupply runs to forward operating bases, and command and control flights for Marine commanders. This Vietnam-specific patch captures the Knightriders as they appeared during their Southeast Asia deployments.
