Officially Licensed USMC HMLAT-303 Squadron Patch — Marine Light Attack Helicopter Training Squadron 303 Embroidered Patch
Atlas — where every Marine skid pilot begins.
Marine Light Attack Helicopter Training Squadron 303 (HMLAT-303) "Atlas" is the United States Marine Corps' Fleet Replacement Squadron for the AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom, based at MCAS Camp Pendleton, California. Every Marine who will fly the Viper attack helicopter or the Venom utility helicopter must first pass through HMLAT-303's demanding training program, making Atlas the birthplace of the Marine skid community.
HMLAT-303's red and black design represents a specific era variant of the squadron's identity. The training syllabus covers every aspect of light attack and utility helicopter operations: weapon systems employment, close air support, armed reconnaissance, assault support, casualty evacuation, and the tactical flying skills that define Marine helicopter warfare. HMLAT-303's instructor pilots are combat-experienced Viper and Venom aviators who bring real-world tactical knowledge to the training environment, ensuring that every graduate who joins a fleet HMLA squadron is prepared for the intensity of Marine Corps helicopter combat operations from day one.
This patch represents the FRS that builds every Marine skid pilot.
Perfect For: HMLAT-303 Atlas personnel, AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom pilots, Marine skid community members, and FRS training squadron collectors.
