**Officially Licensed USMC HMLA-267 Stingers Squadron Sticker — Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
From Iwo Jima to Afghanistan — the Stingers trace their lineage back to World War II and haven't stopped stinging since. First to fully transition to the Zulu and Yankee. Always ready to deploy.
HMLA-267, the "Stingers," is based at MCAS Camp Pendleton under MAG-39 and 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. Originally commissioned in February 1944 as VMO-5 at Quantico, Virginia, the squadron deployed to the Pacific and its OY-1 Sentinels were among the first aircraft to land on Iwo Jima during the battle, spotting for the 13th Marines artillery. Reactivated for Vietnam in 1966, the squadron trained replacement pilots and crews before transitioning through UH-1E Hueys, AH-1J Cobras, and AH-1W SuperCobras. HMLA-267 was the first HMLA to completely transition to the AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom, deployed to Iraq for OIF (where their pilots were in every major firefight), and supported operations in Afghanistan. The Stingers have been named HMLA Squadron of the Year multiple times and provided HMLA detachments to the 11th, 13th, 15th, and 31st MEUs.
