The Stingers of HMLA-267 deployed a skid det with the 31st MEU — Cobras and Venoms from Okinawa.
Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 267 (HMLA-267), the Stingers, deployed a detachment of AH-1Z Vipers and UH-1Y Venoms with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. This PVC patch commemorates that forward-deployed detachment. HMLA-267's skid det provided the 31st MEU with close air support, armed escort, and utility helicopter capability from amphibious ships. The Stingers' Vipers and Venoms operated from the flight decks of LHDs and LHAs, providing the MEU commander with organic rotary-wing attack and transport assets.
