HMLA-267 "Stingers" deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, providing close air support, armed escort, and armed reconnaissance over some of the most contested terrain in the Iraq War. Marine light attack helicopter squadrons were in constant demand during OIF, flying day and night missions supporting Marine ground forces in urban combat, convoy escort, and counterinsurgency operations across Al Anbar Province and beyond. This OIF deployment patch commemorates the Stingers' service during one of the most operationally intense periods in the squadron's history.
