Officially Licensed USMC HML/A-167 Warriors Squadron Patch — Marine Light/Attack Helicopter Squadron Legacy Embroidered Patch
The Warriors during the transition — when HML-167 became HMLA-167 and the Hueys got Cobras as wingmen.
HML/A-167 represents the transitional period when Marine Light Helicopter Squadron 167 was redesignated as Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 167, merging UH-1 Huey utility helicopters with AH-1 Cobra attack helicopters into a single combined squadron. Based at MCAS New River, North Carolina, under MAG-29, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, the Warriors went from a pure Huey outfit to a combined Huey-Cobra team capable of both assault support and close air support. This was one of the most significant organizational changes in Marine rotary-wing history, creating the HMLA model that every Marine light attack squadron follows today.
Perfect For:
HMLA-167 Warriors alumni, Marine light attack transition-era veterans, MAG-29 and 2nd MAW personnel, and USMC squadron history patch collectors.
