HML-776 "Gangsters" was a Marine Corps Reserve light helicopter squadron operating the UH-1 Huey under the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing. The Gangsters nickname gave the squadron an identity that stood out among Reserve aviation units — aggressive, confident, and ready to roll. Like all Reserve HML squadrons, HML-776 maintained combat-ready UH-1 crews who could augment active duty Marine light helicopter operations on short notice. The Gangsters represented the Reserve component's commitment to maintaining a capable rotary-wing force.
