Officially Licensed HML-367 Hover Cover Patches — Marine Light Helicopter Squadron Scarface Legacy Embroidered Patch
"Hover Cover" — when the Hueys orbit overhead keeping the LZ safe while the troops get on the ground.
HML-367 was a Marine light helicopter squadron operating the UH-1 Huey from MCAS Camp Pendleton under MAG-39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. The "Hover Cover" mission was a critical light helicopter function — UH-1 crews would orbit over landing zones providing suppressive fire and security while transport helicopters loaded and unloaded troops. HML-367 eventually evolved through the HMLA redesignation process, merging attack and utility helicopter assets into a combined squadron. The Scarface callsign has remained associated with the 367 lineage throughout its various designations. This patch captures the HML-era Hover Cover identity.
Perfect For:
HML-367 and HMLA-367 Scarface alumni, UH-1 Huey crews, Marine light helicopter veterans, West Coast Skid Kids, and legacy Marine aviation patch collectors.
