Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 769 (HMH-769), the "Titans," is a United States Marine Corps Reserve heavy-lift helicopter squadron operating the CH-53E Super Stallion. As one of the Marine Corps' Reserve heavy helicopter units, HMH-769 provides the same critical heavy-lift capability as active-duty CH-53 squadrons, transporting heavy equipment, vehicles, artillery, and large numbers of Marines into combat zones and austere environments that no other helicopter in the Western world can reach.
The CH-53E Super Stallion is the most powerful helicopter in the U.S. military inventory, capable of lifting 36,000 pounds of external cargo — enough to carry a Light Armored Vehicle, a howitzer, or massive quantities of supplies in a single sortie. HMH-769's Titans maintain this extraordinary capability as Reserve Marines, training on weekends and during annual training periods while holding civilian careers. When activated, the Titans integrate seamlessly with active-duty Marine formations, deploying their Super Stallions to support combat operations, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief missions worldwide. The "Road Hogs" heritage nickname reflects the squadron's no-nonsense, heavy-hauling identity.
