Official HMH-464 Condors 40th Anniversary Patch — Four Decades of Heavy Lift Dominance
Forty years of hauling everything the Marine Corps needs, anywhere on the planet.
Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464, the Condors, was activated at MCAS New River on March 1, 1981, becoming the very first Marine squadron to receive the CH-53E Super Stallion. From their first shipboard deployment to Beirut in 1983 — where they provided critical support after the Marine barracks bombing — to flying 304 combat sorties during Desert Storm, the Condors have defined heavy-lift excellence. They helped secure Camp Rhino in Afghanistan after 9/11, supported Hurricane Katrina relief, and have simultaneously supported all three East Coast MEUs. This 40th anniversary patch commemorates four decades of the squadron that literally carries the Marine Corps on its back.
Perfect For: HMH-464 Marines past and present, CH-53 crew members, heavy lift enthusiasts, and anyone who knows that the Condors don't just fly — they deliver.
Four decades of lift. Forty years of grit. Still the heaviest hitters in Marine aviation.
