Naval Air Station Glynco was a United States Navy installation located near Brunswick, Georgia, that served as an important training and operational base during its years of active service. NAS Glynco played a role in Navy aviation training under the Chief of Naval Air Training (CNATRA) structure, providing facilities and airspace for student naval aviators learning their craft. The base was part of the network of naval air stations that dotted the American coastline during the height of naval aviation expansion.
While NAS Glynco is no longer an active naval installation, its legacy lives on through the thousands of naval aviators and support personnel who served there. The base's facilities were later repurposed for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), but the Navy heritage remains an important part of Brunswick's history. This officially licensed patch preserves the NAS Glynco identity for veterans who served there and historians who study the evolution of the Navy's training base infrastructure. Base patches from decommissioned installations are particularly valuable collectibles.
