NAS Cubi Point — US Navy Embroidered Patch
Cubi Point — Legendary WestPac Hub
NAS Cubi Point was the most legendary liberty port and aviation hub in the Western Pacific — a place where Seabees carved a mountain in half to build a runway, carrier air wings maintained their aircraft, and the famous O' Club bar became the most celebrated gathering place in Naval Aviation history. This patch is a piece of WestPac history.
Naval Air Station Cubi Point, located at Subic Bay in the Philippines, served as the primary maintenance, repair, and supply center for the 400 carrier-based aircraft of the Seventh Fleet from its completion in 1956 until its closure in 1992. Built by Navy Seabees in what was called the largest earth-moving project since the Panama Canal, Cubi Point supported operations from the Korean War through Vietnam and Desert Storm. During the Vietnam War, its jet engine shop produced two engines per day. The station's legendary Officers' Club, adorned with thousands of squadron plaques, was dismantled and shipped to the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, where it lives on as the Cubi Bar Café.
Perfect For:
NAS Cubi Point veterans, WestPac deployment alumni, Seventh Fleet aviators, Subic Bay community, and Naval Aviation heritage collectors.
