Official VRM-30 Det 3 Riptides Patch - Fleet Logistics Multi-Mission Squadron 30, Detachment 3 (Riptides) CMV-22B Osprey Embroidered Patch.

Riptides energy, carrier deck precision, and the quiet force behind every strike group resupply in the Pacific.

Fleet Logistics Multi-Mission Squadron 30 was established on December 14, 2018 at Naval Air Station North Island, California, becoming the first U.S. Navy CMV-22B Osprey squadron and the leading edge of the Navy's transition away from the legacy C-2A Greyhound. The Titans of VRM-30 operate through a detachment model, pushing small, capable teams to carrier strike groups across the Pacific and Indo-Pacific theater. Detachment 3, known as the Riptides, carries that same mission identity forward, flying high-priority cargo, personnel, mail, and critical parts directly to carriers at sea. The CMV-22B brings extended range, tiltrotor flexibility, and the ability to carry oversized loads including F-35C engine power modules that the Greyhound could not accommodate internally. VRM-30 deployed with the USS Carl Vinson in 2021 as part of Carrier Air Wing Two, and a forward detachment moved to Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan in July 2024 alongside Strike Fighter Squadron 147. The Riptides name gives Det 3 its own identity within that broader Titans lineage, connecting the detachment's crews, maintainers, and logistics specialists to a specific chapter of modern Navy carrier aviation history.

Perfect For: Navy logistics aviation veterans, CMV-22B Osprey aircrew and maintainers, VRM-30 Titans alumni, Det 3 Riptides crew members, carrier strike group supporters, Naval Air Station North Island veterans, Indo-Pacific deployment keepsakes, shadow boxes, patch boards, challenge coin displays, and collectors building a focused Navy aviation or carrier logistics collection. It also suits families and supporters who want a specific, well-researched tribute to the detachment crews who keep carrier strike groups mission-ready across the Pacific.

Riptides heritage, stitched for the crews who keep the carrier supplied and the mission moving.
