Official US Navy HSM-72 Proud Warriors Glow-in-the-Dark PVC Patch — US Navy Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron MH-60R Seahawk PVC Patch
Proud Warriors — Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 72
Sub hunters, surface trackers, and combat operators — the Proud Warriors bring the MH-60R Seahawk to the fight from the deck of the Truman.
HSM-72 was originally established as Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light 42 (HSL-42) on October 5, 1984, at Naval Station Mayport, Florida. The squadron was redesignated HSM-72 on January 15, 2013, at NAS Jacksonville, reflecting its transition from the SH-60B to the MH-60R Seahawk and its realignment from a detachment-based expeditionary squadron to a carrier air wing unit. As part of Carrier Air Wing One, the Proud Warriors deploy aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75), conducting anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, search and rescue, and combat support operations across every ocean. In their most recent deployment, HSM-72 contributed over 1,500 sorties and nearly 5,000 flight hours during sustained combat operations in the Red Sea against Houthi forces — part of what was described as the longest sustained Navy combat operation since World War II. This glow-in-the-dark PVC patch captures the Death Howler design in a format built for deployment conditions.
Perfect For: HSM-72 Proud Warriors past and present, MH-60R Seahawk aircrew and maintainers, CVW-1 personnel, NAS Jacksonville helicopter community members, and Navy helicopter maritime strike patch collectors.
