Official HSC-8 Eightballers Shoulder Patches — The Pacific Fleet's Premier Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron
Behind the eight ball? Not a chance. HSC-8 always has the shot.
Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 8 (HSC-8) — the 'Eightballers' — flies the MH-60S Seahawk from NAS North Island, Coronado, California, and is assigned to Carrier Air Wing 11 (CVW-11) aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71). The Eightballers execute some of the most diverse and demanding missions in naval aviation — combat search and rescue, naval special warfare support, anti-surface warfare, vertical replenishment, and humanitarian assistance/disaster relief. The MH-60S is the Swiss Army knife of naval helicopters, capable of carrying weapons, cargo, personnel, and specialized mission equipment depending on the task at hand. HSC-8 has deployed repeatedly to the Western Pacific, Middle East, and beyond, operating from the flight deck of aircraft carriers and amphibious assault ships in every kind of weather and sea state. The Eightballers' maintainers work in some of the most challenging conditions in the Navy — the salt, heat, and relentless tempo of carrier operations — to keep the MH-60S fleet mission-ready around the clock.
Perfect For: HSC-8 Eightballers aircrew and maintainers past and present, MH-60S Seahawk community members, CVW-11 and NAS North Island personnel, and anyone who has served with the Eightballers.
