When the Golden Eagles go REIN, the entire MEU gets wings.

VMM-162 "Golden Eagles" is a Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron flying the MV-22B Osprey out of MCAS New River, North Carolina, under MAG-26 and the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. When designated as the Aviation Combat Element (ACE) for a Marine Expeditionary Unit, the Golden Eagles operate as VMM-162 (REIN) — reinforced with additional helicopter, attack, and support aircraft — becoming the complete aviation package that gives a MEU its ability to project power from ship to shore. The Golden Eagles have a proud lineage of deploying in support of Marine Air-Ground Task Force operations around the globe, including MEU deployments to the Mediterranean, Middle East, and Africa. This REIN PVC patch represents the full-up, reinforced configuration — when the Golden Eagles bring everything they've got.
