Sea Control Squadron 21 (VS-21), the "Redtails," was one of the United States Navy's distinguished carrier-based anti-submarine warfare squadrons. Operating the S-3 Viking, VS-21 deployed from aircraft carrier flight decks to detect, track, and neutralize enemy submarines that threatened the carrier battle group and allied shipping lanes.
