Officially Licensed US Navy VP-30 Pro's Nest Patch — Fleet Replacement Squadron Maritime Patrol Aviation Embroidered Patch
The Pro's Nest — where every Navy maritime patrol aviator earns their wings in the P-3 Orion and P-8 Poseidon.
Patrol Squadron 30 (VP-30), the "Pro's Nest," is the U.S. Navy's Fleet Replacement Squadron for the maritime patrol and reconnaissance community, based at NAS Jacksonville, Florida. VP-30 trains every pilot, naval flight officer, and enlisted aircrew member who will fly the P-8A Poseidon — and previously the P-3C Orion — before they report to fleet patrol squadrons around the world. The Pro's Nest is where maritime patrol aviators learn to hunt submarines, conduct anti-surface warfare, perform intelligence collection, and execute the long-range maritime surveillance missions that have defined patrol aviation since World War II.
As the sole FRS for the maritime patrol community, VP-30 is the gateway through which every MPRA aviator must pass. The squadron's instructor pilots and systems operators are among the most experienced in the patrol aviation community, passing on decades of tactical knowledge in anti-submarine warfare, maritime domain awareness, and the employment of the P-8A Poseidon's advanced sensor suite. VP-30 has trained thousands of maritime patrol crews who have gone on to deploy worldwide, tracking submarines, monitoring shipping lanes, and providing the long-range maritime surveillance that underpins American naval power.
