This patch represents the Avengers Flight Training Program at NAS Corpus Christi, Texas, associated with Training Squadrons VT-27 and VT-28. The program trains student naval aviators in the T-6B Texan II during the primary and intermediate phases of flight training. Student pilots learn basic aircraft handling, instrument flying, formation, and aerobatics under the guidance of experienced instructor pilots. The Avengers name adds a heroic identity to what is fundamentally the most important phase of a naval aviator's development — the foundational skills that will carry them through their entire flying career.
