Officially Licensed US Navy VAW-121 Bluetails Stickers — The Eyes of the Carrier Strike Group
The Bluetails see everything. Before a strike launches, before a fighter engages, before a missile flies — the Hawkeye was already there.
Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 121 (VAW-121) — the 'Bluetails' — flies the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, the United States Navy's carrier-based airborne early warning, command and control, and battle management aircraft. Based at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, the Bluetails deploy as part of a carrier air wing to provide the radar surveillance, air intercept control, strike coordination, and battle management that every carrier operation depends on. The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye features the APY-9 radar — the most capable airborne surveillance radar in the world — along with advanced data links and networked battle management systems that allow the Hawkeye crew to coordinate the entire air battle from their stations aboard the aircraft. The Bluetails have deployed throughout the Atlantic, Mediterranean, Persian Gulf, and Indo-Pacific, providing the command and control backbone for carrier air wing operations in combat and peacetime alike. VAW squadrons are the quarterback of the carrier air wing — they see the entire battlefield, direct fighters to their targets, coordinate strikes, manage the air defense picture, and provide the situational awareness that allows the air wing commander to make tactical decisions. Every successful carrier air wing operation begins with the Hawkeye getting airborne and painting the picture. This sticker represents the Bluetails and their critical role in naval aviation.
Perfect For: VAW-121 Bluetails aircrew and maintainers, E-2D Advanced Hawkeye and E-2C Hawkeye community members, carrier air wing personnel, Naval Station Norfolk aviators, and anyone who has served with the Eyes of the Fleet.
