Officially Licensed US Navy VAQ-138 Yellow Jackets Leather Patches — Rampage in Leather
The Yellow Jackets have been projecting electronic attack dominance since 1976. This leather patch carries that legacy on the flight jacket.
Electronic Attack Squadron 138 (VAQ-138) — the 'Yellow Jackets' — is an expeditionary EA-18G Growler squadron based at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington, with the callsign 'Rampage.' Commissioned in February 1976, the Yellow Jackets spent their first three decades deploying aboard aircraft carriers — including eight deployments aboard USS Nimitz — flying the EA-6B Prowler in combat over Libya, the Persian Gulf, Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Iraq. The squadron fired over 60 HARMs against Serbian air defenses during Operation Allied Force, supported Operations Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom, and earned the Admiral Arthur W. Radford Award, the Battle E, and the CNO Aviation Safety Award. After transitioning to the EA-18G Growler in 2010, the Yellow Jackets became an expeditionary electronic attack squadron, deploying to forward bases across the Indo-Pacific including Misawa, Japan, Clark Air Base in the Philippines, and Andersen AFB in Guam. In 2020, VAQ-138 became the first squadron to execute a HARM shoot from home base at NAS Whidbey Island. This leather patch carries the Yellow Jackets' nearly five decades of electronic warfare heritage — designed to be worn on the G-1 flight jacket alongside the cruise patches and flight hour tabs that tell the story of a naval aviator's career.
Perfect For: VAQ-138 Yellow Jackets aircrew and maintainers, EA-18G Growler and EA-6B Prowler veterans, NAS Whidbey Island personnel, electronic warfare community members, and anyone who flies under the callsign Rampage.
