VT-31 Wise Owls E-2 Hawkeye Shad Wagoneers Shoulder Patch — US Navy Training Squadron Embroidered Patch
The Shad Wagoneers — where future Hawkeye crews learn to run the show.
Training Squadron 31 (VT-31), the "Wise Owls," is the U.S. Navy's advanced multi-engine training squadron based at NAS Corpus Christi, Texas, under Training Air Wing Four. VT-31 trains student naval aviators in the T-44C Pegasus, preparing them for fleet assignment to multi-engine and turboprop aircraft including the E-2 Hawkeye, C-2 Greyhound, and P-3/P-8 maritime patrol platforms. The "Shad Wagoneers" nickname is an internal callsign within the Hawkeye pipeline — a nod to the E-2 community's culture and the unique mission of airborne early warning and battle management. Graduates of the Hawkeye track go on to VAW squadrons, where they become the tactical heart of the carrier air wing.
Perfect For:
VT-31 Wise Owls alumni and current students, E-2 Hawkeye pipeline aviators, VAW squadron personnel, NAS Corpus Christi training wing members, and Navy aviation patch collectors.
