Custom Training Air Wing TWO "Nowhere, TX" morale patch.

Kingsville, Texas — middle of nowhere, half the Navy's tailhook pilots come through here.

Training Air Wing TWO (TW-2) is one of five training air wings in the Naval Air Training Command, headquartered at Naval Air Station Kingsville, Texas — a small South Texas town that Student Naval Aviators have affectionately called "Nowhere, TX" for generations. TW-2 is the strike pipeline training wing for the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and partner-nation services, and it consists of two T-45C Goshawk training squadrons: VT-21 "Red Hawks" and VT-22 "Golden Eagles." At any given time, TW-2 fields roughly 200 Student Naval Aviators, 75 instructor pilots, more than 500 civilian and contract employees, and 85–100 T-45C Goshawk aircraft, running the intermediate and advanced strike syllabus that culminates in Carrier Qualification — the first arrested landing aboard an aircraft carrier and the moment a student earns the right to be called a Naval Aviator with the Wings of Gold. TW-2 produces approximately half of the U.S. Navy's tailhook pilots every year (the other half coming through Training Air Wing ONE at NAS Meridian, Mississippi), and the T-45C has been the wing's training jet since the system was introduced in 1992 by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing). "Nowhere, TX" is the joke. The Wings of Gold from Kingsville are the legacy.

Perfect For: Training Air Wing TWO Student Naval Aviators and instructor pilots, VT-21 Red Hawks and VT-22 Golden Eagles personnel, NAS Kingsville Sailors and Marines, T-45C Goshawk maintainers, Naval Air Training Command alumni, Wings of Gold recipients, and naval aviation strike pipeline collectors.

Nowhere, TX — Wings of Gold to everywhere.
