Officially Licensed USMC VMMT-204 Raptors blackout PVC patch.
The Osprey schoolhouse — every MV-22 pilot and crew chief in the Corps comes through here.
Marine Medium Tiltrotor Training Squadron 204 (VMMT-204), the "Raptors," is the U.S. Marine Corps Fleet Replacement Squadron for the MV-22B Osprey, based at Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina under Marine Aircraft Group 26 (MAG-26) and the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. VMMT-204 trains every Marine and Navy MV-22 Osprey pilot, crew chief, and maintainer in the use, maintenance, and tactical employment of the tiltrotor — the schoolhouse that feeds the entire VMM operational community. The squadron was originally activated on May 1, 1972 as Marine Medium Helicopter Training Squadron 204 (HMT-204) following the post-Vietnam reorganization that deactivated Marine Aircraft Training Group 40 and consolidated HMT-401 (CH-46) and HMT-402 (CH-53) into HMT-204 — initially a composite training squadron training both CH-46 and CH-53 pilots side-by-side. In June 1988, HMT-302 took over CH-53 training and the CH-53s departed; on November 9, 1988 HMT-204 received the Meritorious Unit Commendation for service to the FMF; and in October 1993, after HMT-301 deactivated, HMT-204 became the sole Fleet Replacement Squadron for the entire CH-46E Sea Knight community — earning the distinction of being the largest CH-46E squadron in the Marine Corps. On June 10, 1999 HMT-204 was officially redesignated as VMMT-204, transitioning to its current MV-22B Osprey training mission. This blackout PVC patch is the Raptor schoolhouse calling card.
