Officially Licensed USMC HMLA-167 Warriors Squadron Patch — Born in the Fire of Vietnam

Forged at Marble Mountain. Tempered in every fight since.

HMLA-167 "Warriors" is a Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron flying the AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom out of MCAS New River, North Carolina, under MAG-29 and the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. The Warriors were born in combat — commissioned on March 15, 1968, at Marble Mountain Air Facility in the Republic of Vietnam, where they immediately went to work flying UH-1E Hueys in close air support, CASEVAC, and armed escort missions. The squadron has fought in every major conflict since, from Desert Storm to Operation Praying Mantis (where they assaulted Iranian oil platforms), to OIF and OEF in Afghanistan's Helmand Province. HMLA-167 was the first unit officially designated as a Light Attack Squadron with a permanent composite mix of Hueys and Cobras, and they were the first East Coast HMLA to receive the UH-1Y. This patch represents a squadron that has been at war or ready for it since the day it was born.

Perfect For: HMLA-167 Warriors Marines and veterans, AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom community, MCAS New River helicopter crews, MAG-29 and 2nd MAW personnel, Vietnam-era HML-167 veterans, and anyone who knows the Warriors earned their name the hard way.

HMLA-167 Warriors — once a Warrior, always a Warrior.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you want to swap patches on/off gear, choose hook & loop (velcro). If you’re attaching permanently to uniforms or fabric, choose sew-on. If you want quick application on compatible fabric, choose iron-on / heat seal (when offered). Backing options are shown on the page and update based on the variant you select.

Size is shown on the product page and updates with the variant you select (example: 3"). If you’re mounting on a hat or small panel, choose smaller sizes; for plate carriers and display boards, larger sizes fit better.

If the product is officially licensed, it will say “Officially Licensed” in the title and/or in the product details. If it doesn’t, it’s still a legitimate product—just not part of a licensed program.

Yes. If you see a note like “bulk reruns available,” that means we can support group orders or reruns. If you don’t see it, contact us with the unit/squadron and quantity and we’ll confirm options.
