Officially Licensed USMC Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) patch.
Marine Air. Six functions. Every clime and place.
The Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) is the aviation combat element of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force — the air component of the Marines' combined-arms warfighting concept. The Marine Corps fields three active MAWs that cover the globe: 1st Marine Aircraft Wing at MCAS Iwakuni, Japan (under III MEF), 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina (under II MEF), and 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing at MCAS Miramar, California (under I MEF), plus the 4th MAW reserve component at NAS JRB New Orleans. Every MAW is built to deliver the Marine Corps' Six Functions of Marine Aviation: assault support, anti-air warfare, offensive air support, electronic warfare, control of aircraft and missiles, and aerial reconnaissance. The fleet of platforms across the wings spans the F-35B/C Lightning II, F/A-18A++/C/D Hornet (in sundown), AV-8B Harrier II (now sundown), MV-22B Osprey, KC-130J Super Hercules, AH-1Z Viper, UH-1Y Venom, CH-53E Super Stallion (and the new CH-53K King Stallion), MQ-9A Reaper, and a full air defense and air control suite. Each MAW is organized into Marine Aircraft Groups (MAGs), Marine Wing Support Groups (MWSGs), and a Marine Air Control Group (MACG), and operates from MCAS Beaufort, Cherry Point, New River, Miramar, Yuma, Camp Pendleton, Kaneohe Bay, Iwakuni, and Futenma. This patch carries the Wing colors for every Marine Air Marine.
Perfect For: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Marine Aircraft Wing active-duty and veteran personnel, MAG and MACG Marines, MWSG support Marines, fixed-wing and rotary-wing aviators and aircrew, MCAS Iwakuni / Cherry Point / Miramar / Yuma / New River / Beaufort station Marines, and Marine Air-Ground Task Force aviation enthusiasts.
