Official VMM-163 (REIN) 4th of July Patch - Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 163 Reinforced Evil Eyes Independence Day Embroidered Patch.

Evil Eyes watching over every mission, every deployment, every Independence Day — Ridge Runner pride stitched into a patriotic keepsake.

VMM-163, the Evil Eyes, is based at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, under Marine Aircraft Group 16 and the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. The squadron traces its roots to December 1951 and earned its original Ridge Runners nickname during typhoon relief operations in Japan in 1953. The iconic eyes painted on squadron aircraft date to 1965, when the squadron's intelligence officer proposed the design during combat operations in South Vietnam, where the unit earned the Presidential Unit Citation and Navy Unit Commendation for valor. After transitioning from the CH-46 Sea Knight to the MV-22B Osprey, the squadron was redesignated VMM-163 and has since deployed as the reinforced Aviation Combat Element of Marine Expeditionary Units, conducting assault support, troop insertion, and long-range operations across the Indo-Pacific and beyond. The REIN designation marks the squadron in its full deployed configuration, with additional aviation assets attached to the core squadron for MEU operations. This 4th of July embroidered patch ties that deep operational identity to an American Independence Day theme, making it a natural fit for patriotic displays, reunion tables, and collections that honor both unit heritage and national pride.

Perfect For: VMM-163 Evil Eyes veterans and active-duty members, Ridge Runners alumni, MV-22B Osprey aircrew and maintainers, MAG-16 and 3rd MAW personnel, 11th MEU and Amphibious Ready Group deployment veterans, Independence Day military collectors, shadow box builders, reunion gift buyers, and anyone who wants a patriotic patch that carries real squadron history rather than a generic holiday design. It also works for family members and supporters who want a meaningful keepsake connecting American pride with the deployed service of the Marines who move the mission forward.

Evil Eyes heritage, Ridge Runner roots, and American pride — all in one embroidered patch.
