Official VMFA-121 Green Knights Mini PVC Patch - Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 121 (VMFA-121) F-35B Lightning II Mini PVC Patch, MCAS Iwakuni, Japan.
Green Knights identity, Guadalcanal roots, and fifth-generation stealth fighter pride captured in a compact, field-ready PVC format.
VMFA-121 traces its lineage to 24 June 1941, when Marine Fighting Squadron 121 was activated and went on to fly F4F Wildcats and F4U Corsairs as charter members of the Cactus Air Force during the Battle of Guadalcanal, producing fourteen fighter aces including Medal of Honor recipient Major Joe Foss. The squadron carried that aggressive combat identity through Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and multiple Iraq deployments before reaching a defining milestone in November 2012, when it was redesignated VMFA-121 and became the first operational F-35B squadron in the Marine Corps and the first operational F-35 squadron in any branch of the U.S. military. In January 2017 the Green Knights made history again by permanently relocating to MCAS Iwakuni, Japan, becoming the first forward-deployed F-35B squadron in the world, operating under Marine Aircraft Group 12 and the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing with tail code VK and the radio call sign Combat. That unbroken thread from Pacific island fighting to fifth-generation stealth operations in the Indo-Pacific gives this mini PVC patch a depth of unit history that few Marine aviation insignia can match. The durable PVC construction holds the Green Knights emblem cleanly on gear bags, flight jackets, patch panels, shadow boxes, and display boards without fading or fraying over time.
Perfect For: VMFA-121 veterans and active-duty Marines, F-35B Lightning II aircrew and maintainers, Green Knights alumni, MAG-12 and 1st MAW collectors, MCAS Iwakuni community members, Marine aviation historians, Guadalcanal and Pacific theater enthusiasts, challenge coin and patch board builders, deployment keepsakes, reunion gifts, and anyone assembling a serious Marine fighter attack collection that spans World War II heritage through modern stealth aviation in the Indo-Pacific.
Green Knights heritage, from Guadalcanal to the Indo-Pacific, in one durable mini patch.
