Raider Class ITC-33 PVC Glow Patch
Marine Raider Training Center, Individual Training Course Class 33
The Individual Training Course (ITC) is the crucible through which every Marine Raider must pass—a grueling nine-to-ten-month program conducted at the Marine Raider Training Center at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, that transforms selected Marines into Critical Skills Operators (CSOs) capable of conducting the full spectrum of special operations. The first ITC class graduated on 22 April 2009, when 50 Marines completed the inaugural course and earned the title of Marine special operator, setting the precedent for future generations of MARSOC operators.
ITC is broken into four demanding phases that systematically build multidimensional operators. Phase 1 trains and evaluates students in basic field skills including land navigation, patrolling, Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape (SERE), Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), mission planning, fire support training, and communications. Phase 2 builds upon that foundation with small boat and scout swimmer operations, small arms and crew-served weapons employment, demolitions, photography, and information collection. Phase 3 focuses on close quarters battle (CQB), training students to high degrees of proficiency in combat marksmanship, CQB tactics, and urban combat skill sets. The final phase covers irregular warfare operations, requiring students to integrate all skills while training, advising, and operating with partner nation and irregular forces.
Class ITC-33 represents one of the subsequent generations of Marine Raiders who endured this unforgiving selection and training pipeline. The ITC motto—"Vis gregis est lupus," meaning "The strength of the pack is the wolf"—captures the essence of the course: each individual Raider must be a source of strength to their Marine Special Operations Team. Upon graduation, Raiders are assigned to one of the three Marine Raider Battalions headquartered at Camp Lejeune and Camp Pendleton, joining fourteen-man MSOTs that deploy worldwide to execute direct action, special reconnaissance, and foreign internal defense.
Perfect For: ITC-33 graduates and classmates, Marine Raider Training Center cadre, MARSOC Critical Skills Operators, Marine Special Operations School instructors, and supporters of the Marine Corps' special operations training pipeline.
Vis gregis est lupus—the strength of the pack is the wolf—honoring the warriors of ITC Class 33 who earned the right to call themselves Marine Raiders.
