MALS-41, known as the Desperados, is a reserve aviation logistics support unit of the United States Marine Corps operating under Marine Aircraft Group 41 and 4th Marine Aircraft Wing at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas. The squadron provides intermediate-level maintenance support to VMFA-112 and VMGR-234, with a detachment at MCAS Miramar supporting VMM-764, covering F/A-18 Hornets, KC-130 Tankers, and MV-22 Ospreys across the MAG-41 mission set. A MALS delivers direct support across aircraft maintenance, avionics, aviation supply, and ordnance to keep tactical squadrons combat-ready in garrison and in the field. The CAS and SFMD designations on this patch identify the Consolidated Aviation Support and Supply Flight Material Division functions within MALS-41, the internal shop-level teams responsible for parts sourcing, supply chain management, and material readiness. MALS-41 has answered the call across Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and the Global War on Terrorism, deploying augments and sustaining combat flight operations from Southwest Asia to the Horn of Africa.
