MTACS-2 operates the Tactical Air Command Center that serves as the senior air command and control agency for the Marine Air-Ground Task Force. This patch represents the Marines who coordinate and direct the employment of all Marine aviation assets.
Marine Tactical Air Control Squadron 2 operates the Tactical Air Command Center (TACC) for the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, serving as the senior agency of the Marine Air Command and Control System. From the TACC, MTACS-2 Marines coordinate the planning, tasking, and execution of all aviation missions in support of the MAGTF. The squadron manages the Air Tasking Order, coordinates air defense operations, and directs the employment of fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and tiltrotor aircraft across the battlespace.
