MALS-49 provides aviation logistics support, guidance, planning, and direction to Marine Aircraft Group 49 squadrons within the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing. Based at Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh, New York, the Magicians maintain reserve rotary wing aircraft to the same exacting standards as active duty MALS units. The squadron's Marines bring valuable civilian aviation expertise to the Marine Corps Reserve, providing a unique force multiplier when activated for real-world operations. MALS-49's commitment to logistics excellence ensures that East Coast reserve helicopter aviation remains a credible and ready combat force.
