The Patriots of MALS-26 have been the logistics backbone of Marine assault support aviation on the East Coast for over seven decades. From the Cuban Missile Crisis to Desert Storm to Iraq, this squadron has deployed alongside MAG-26's flying squadrons, ensuring that every MV-22 Osprey is mission-ready and every maintenance action is completed to the highest standard.
Originally activated as Headquarters Squadron 26 in 1952, the unit has evolved through multiple redesignations to become MALS-26 in 1988. The Patriots have participated in virtually every major MAG-26 operation, from the Dominican Republic and Beirut to Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The squadron completed over 105,000 maintenance actions and processed over 115,000 aviation supply demands in a single two-year period, earning a Meritorious Unit Commendation. MALS-26 was selected as the 2nd MAW MALS of the Year and has consistently set the standard for aviation logistics excellence.
