MALS-11 Devilfish — USMC Embroidered Patch

The Devilfish of Miramar

MALS-11 is the oldest aviation logistics unit in the Marine Corps, with roots stretching back to 1921. The "Devilfish" have been keeping Marine fixed-wing aircraft in the fight for over a century, from the first attacks against Viet Cong forces to the precision strikes of Operation Iraqi Freedom. This officially licensed patch represents that unmatched legacy.

Tracing its lineage to Flight 1, 2nd Air Squadron at Quantico in December 1921, MALS-11 is the descendant of the Marine Corps' original aviation support element. During World War II, the unit fought across the Solomon Islands, New Britain, Peleliu, and the Philippines. At Da Nang in Vietnam, the squadron supported 12 different aircraft types. Redesignated MALS-11 in 1988, the unit deployed for Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom, earning the Secretary of Defense Award for Maintenance Excellence and the Marine Corps Aviation Association Marion Carl Award. Based at MCAS Miramar supporting MAG-11's F/A-18 Hornets and KC-130J Super Hercules.

Perfect For:
MALS-11 Devilfish veterans and active duty Marines, MAG-11 personnel, MCAS Miramar community, F/A-18 maintenance Marines, and aviation logistics collectors.

Devilfish — A Century of Excellence.
