Marine Aircraft Group MAG-39 — USMC Embroidered Patch
Combat Aviation, Camp Pendleton
MAG-39 is where Marine rotary wing combat power comes together. Home to the Corps' West Coast light attack helicopter and tiltrotor squadrons, this group produces the aviation combat elements that deploy with Marine Expeditionary Units around the globe. This officially licensed patch represents the thousands of Marines who've served under the MAG-39 colors.
Reactivated on 1 September 1978 at Camp Pendleton and assigned to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, MAG-39 traces its combat lineage to the provisional group established at Quang Tri in 1968. Since reactivation, elements have participated in Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Operation Restore Hope in Somalia, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Today, the group consists of AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom light attack squadrons, MV-22 Osprey tiltrotor squadrons, the H-1 Fleet Replacement Squadron HMLAT-303, and supporting logistics and wing support squadrons. MAG-39 provides combat-ready naval expeditionary forces capable of conducting task-organized combat aviation support anywhere in the world.
Perfect For:
MAG-39 veterans and active duty Marines, AH-1Z and UH-1Y community members, MV-22 Osprey pilots, 3rd MAW personnel, and Camp Pendleton aviation enthusiasts.
Combat Ready, Globally Lethal.
