Officially Licensed Marine Aviation Control Squadron MACS-4 Patch - Marine Air Control Squadron 4 (MACS-4), III Marine Expeditionary Force, USMC Embroidered Patch.
Eyes on the sky, radar on the threat, and the battlespace locked down for every Marine aircraft in the Indo-Pacific.
MACS-4 traces its lineage to World War II and has grown into one of the Marine Corps' most operationally significant air command and control squadrons. The unit provides aerial surveillance, ground-controlled interception, and continuous all-weather air traffic control in support of the III Marine Expeditionary Force, operating today from Marine Corps Air Station Futenma under Marine Air Control Group 18 and the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing. Its most defining combat chapter came in Vietnam, where the squadron deployed to the Monkey Mountain facility east of Danang and became the first unit in Marine Corps history to operate the Marine Tactical Data System. Over the course of that deployment, MACS-4 controlled or assisted more than 472,000 aircraft, a record that speaks to the scale and precision of its radar mission. The squadron also contributed during the Korean War and supported Operation Enduring Freedom from 2002 through 2004, adding modern combat credibility to a lineage that spans eight decades. Today its mission encompasses air direction, surface-to-air weapons coordination, airspace management, and weather dissemination at forward operating bases across the Indo-Pacific region. This officially licensed embroidered patch represents that full arc of service, from early radar warning roots to current expeditionary air control operations.
Perfect for MACS-4 veterans and active-duty Marines, air command and control community collectors, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing alumni, Marine Air Control Group 18 supporters, Vietnam War and Operation Enduring Freedom commemorators, shadow box builders, patch panel displays, reunion gifts, and family members who want a meaningful tribute to the Marines who own the airspace and keep every aircraft in the fight safe and on target.
Eight decades of radar, control, and Marine air dominance, stitched into one officially licensed emblem.
